A scene from my currently writing novel, just for fun or a cover candidate

The creatures around the fire are Bebus, mythological spirits from my village (their original name is bebaung, or thats what the villager call it) My uncle had seen one of them, playing around in the rice field with a local dog. He makes me sure that Bebaung harm no people, they are just spirits of the forest. Indeed, my uncle house is located near the forest and river, I need about one hour walking to reach there. His name was Marteo. One day the child and his dog went to the deep of the forest and got lost.

"What are we gonna do now, deun?" he asked the only friend that night. "We have to go back to the village, my mother must be so worry about me."

But his dog said nothing, just stared at him anxiously.
